How about a twinned book-group?
Book-lovers in York and Münster, our German twin-town, have had two book-groups sessions over Zoom and the next on is set for October 6th. The book for discussion is Kate Atkinson’s “Behind the scenes at the museum”, “Familienalbum" in the German edition, set of course in York. There is a group for discussion in English and another in German - a great opportunity to practice another language! More details on the York-Münster Association website.
For a book-group discussion in French, turn to Alliance Française with its "Club des bibliophiles”. The last session was on August 10th - go to their website for the new book and new date.
Polishing up your French - or diving into the language for the first time?
Alliance Française courses start again this year on September 20th. Their website has the details for all levels.
Anti-food wasting ideas in York and Münster
With the climate and ecology firmly on our agenda, the Zoom meeting of over a dozen volunteers with food-sharing schemes and food-banks in York and Münster was timely on 16th July. If this is something you’d like to join, there are more details on the York-Münster Association website.
