News from Prima Vocal Ensemble!
Prima Vocal Ensemble is a progressive mixed voice choir with an established reputation for musical diversity whose repertoire includes music from many European countries. Under the baton of artistic director and producer Eva Salecka, Prima has enjoyed another wonderful year with consecutive sell-out events at home and exciting collaborations in the USA.
Now Prima is delighted to present two very special family concerts set in the beautiful St Olave’s Church in the heart of York.
FAMILY CHRISTMAS with PRIMA CHORAL ARTISTS
will be held on Saturday Dec 14 & Dec 21 2024, 4-5pm, at St Olave's Church, Marygate, York YO30 7DT
Residents and visitors alike are warmly invited to join the Prima Choral Artists, New World String Quartet (Opera North), pianist Greg Birch and guest performers for two afternoons of Christmas favourites for all ages. These feel-good, one hour long concerts include popular works such as “Carol of the Bells”, “Sleigh Ride” and the “Sussex Carol” with much loved seasonal pieces by early and modern choral composers.
With enchanting pieces for strings by the likes of Tchaikovsky and Vladimir Rebikov and rousing audience carols - “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and "Ding Dong Merrily on High” - this is your perfect way to celebrate Christmas in York.
